Now in its third year, the Sotonia Youth Camping Weekend returns on Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th June. Sure to be plenty of fun in the forest with it hopefully being bigger and better than last year.
Weekend schedule
FRIDAY: We’re hopefully be arriving at Roundhill campsite on the Friday night any time after 5:00pm to settle into our spot on site. No big plans for Friday only to sit and chill and maybe flash up the odd bar-b or down to the local takeaway for food.
Saturday: The morning will see us taking a leisurely ride on the tracks of the new forest followed by a picnic either back at base or somewhere in the forest. Throughout the afternoon the kids will most probably be disappearing and exploring the woods but hopefully we will be having the traditional family games of rounders/baseball, Giant jenga or Kubb.
Late afternoon will see bike skills tested for our bike games. Water bottle drop off, limbo bar, slow bike race and circle of death to name but a few. As always this part of the weekend tends to get rather competitive as the parents & coaches think they can out bike the kids, great to watch.
SUNDAY: As Sunday morning dawns we will be meeting with our monthly family ride, which will be coming straight through our campsite at approximately 10:30am, so hopefully plenty of time to prepare ourselves for our usual 6 or 12 mile routes on the tracks of Deny Wood.
