This is entirely optional and irrespective of whether they do a workout or don\u2019t, we will all stay together. Even if riders start the workout and decide during the ride that its not for them, they can ignore the on-screen workout prompts and just carry on riding as normal.<\/p>\n<p>If this is something you\u2019re interested in, the following will explain the steps to take&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1 &#8211; load the Sotonia Youth workouts onto your Zwift account (needs to be done in advance of the first ride).<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Zwift workouts are simple \u2018.zwo\u2019 files, and ours (Sot Yth) are stored at <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1ipgKNUp4tiTIbi_tyn4c8DV3IykzJmWJ?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1ipgKNUp4tiTIbi_tyn4c8DV3IykzJmWJ?usp=sharing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Download all the files to your PC\/MAC (at the time of writing there are 4 workouts but this will be expanded), and add to your Zwift workout library by moving them to your <em>\u2018Documents\\Zwift\\Workouts\\&lt;&lt;Numeric Zwift ID&gt;&gt; folder\u2019.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>If multiple Zwifters access the platform on your device, there will be multiple Numeric Zwift ID folders visible. Either copy the files into everyone\u2019s folder (easiest option), or click here to find out each riders Numeric Zwift ID <a href=\"https:\/\/zwiftinsider.com\/find-zwift-id\">https:\/\/zwiftinsider.com\/find-zwift-id<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re using an iOS device, <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zwift.com\/en_us\/workout-mode-S1WDxDuNB\">this article<\/a> explains how to access your custom workouts folder.<\/li>\n<li>Next time you launch Zwift all the Sotonia Youth workouts will appear in the custom workouts menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2 \u2013 selecting a workout<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Before a group meet up (Mon &amp; Thurs), we\u2019ll let everyone know what number workout (e.g. W2) we\u2019re going to use that night (via Facebook and\/or the invite on the Zwift Companion App).<\/li>\n<li>Join the group meet-up in exactly the same way as usual, but whilst you\u2019re sitting on the turbo trainer waiting for it to begin, click <em>\u2018Menu&gt;Workouts\u2019<\/em> or hit <em>\u2018E\u2019<\/em> on your keyboard to open the workout picker window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1132\" src=\"https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"870\" height=\"596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1.jpg 525w, https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Sotonia Youth workouts that you loaded in step 1 will be in the custom workouts menu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1133 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"873\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2.jpg 873w, https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2-768x528.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 873px) 100vw, 873px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose the correct workout, click <em>\u2018Workout\u2019&gt;\u2019Back\u2019<\/em> and you\u2019re ready to go!<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll now see the workout plan on the left of the screen, and if you\u2019re using the Zwift Companion App a new option (Workout) will appear at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3 \u2013 adjusting the difficulty of the workout (optional)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you feel at any point that the workout is too hard or easy (although remember that the first 20 minutes is a gradual warm-up) you can adjust the difficulty either before the ride, or on during it. This can be done either on the PC\/MAC or using the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zwift.com\/en_us\/using-the-zwift-companion-app-Hybn8qzPr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zwift Companion App<\/a><\/li>\n<li>PC\/MAC &#8211; look at the workout breakdown on the left side of the screen. Beneath the list of workout details, you\u2019ll see \u2018100%\u2019 sandwiched between up and down arrows.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the arrows to either increase or decrease the difficulty of every block of the workout, by as much as 10%. Similar controls appear on Zwift\u2019s blue \u2018Action Bar\u2019, which is accessible on your laptop (by tapping your keyboard\u2019s \u201cup\u201d arrow)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zwift.com\/en_us\/using-the-zwift-companion-app-Hybn8qzPr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zwift Companion App<\/a> \u2013 On the \u2018Workout\u2019 option, adjust the \u2018bias\u2019 either up or down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Finally!!<\/h3>\n<p>Unless you\u2019ve done an FTP test with a smart trainer\/power meter, the value assigned to you by Zwift will not be accurate, but as long as you set up your trainer consistently (including tyre pressure) these workouts should be pitched about right for everybody (workouts are set as a % of riders FTP). However, if you\u2019re finding the workouts consistently too hard (or easy) then this is a sign that your Zwift FTP is either too high or low. This can be easily be adjusted by clicking on the pencil icon <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1134\" src=\"https:\/\/sotonia.co.uk\/youth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/pencil.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"34\" height=\"25\" \/> under your name and changing the FTP value.<\/p>\n<p>ENJOY!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During our bi-weekly Zwift group rides, our riders can also choose to do a workout.
