A sunny morning on the P166 course near Beaulieu attracted a select field of 10 riders plus 1 tandem, the prospect of an early season 25 mile TT proving too intimidating for some. It was great to see several club members out on the course spectating and cheering the riders on.
Conditions were much better than last year, although by the second and third lap around the 7 mile triangle the wind had certainly picked up making it a long slog up to Ipley Cross.
For anyone not familiar with the P166 it’s a 25 mile version of its more well known cousin the P164. The course is three and a half loops of the “triangle” of the P164, starting at the top of the big hill and finishing soon after the turn at Laygreen Farmhouse. Here’s the P166 Strava segment.
